So, a typical outline looks something like this:

A. Text
B. Test
i. A bunch of text here possibly that goes on and on.

What if there was a fixed preview of the text in a tree so that, let's say you had point (i) that had a very large summary of a chapter of a book. When you open that child branch, it would spread out and potentially fill the rest of the page. However, you can have a fixed preview of the summary like this:

A. Test
B. Test
i. A bunch of text here that...

The "..." would indicate there is more". Perhaps you could click on the text or double-click and it would all appear. You could adjust the amount of the preview to maybe a few hundred characters instead of the just a few like above.
